What is Pipkins Communications?
We are a full service communications company specializing in public relations, event design, image architecture, creative writing and engagement marketing.
What inspired you to start your business?
No matter how far I strayed from PR somehow I was led back to it. Projects started falling in my lap and I enjoyed every bit of it. This made me realize that public relations was my passion and my calling. I recognized the great opportunities in this field and took a leap of faith, leading me to develop a full service communications company.
What challenges have you faced thus far?
The main challenge that I have faced is recognizing that it takes time to really receive a true return on investment. You have to put forth great effort to receive a greater return. You have to exercise patience and continue to work diligently. Another challenge is that some business owners don't understand the true need and importance of public relations. No matter how great a business is, if no one knows about it, other efforts are fruitless. Often, I really have to take time to explain to business owners the value in public relations and how it can enhance their business.
What are the most valuable lessons you’ve learned as a business owner?
The most valuable lesson that I have learned is to know my worth. At the end of the day some people will try to tear you down, which can diminish your spirit. They will try to reduce your fee and discredit your work. I know my worth and do not let negative forces deter me. I also know that everyone is not meant to be a client. Just like clients choose who they hire, we, as business owners, should selectively take on clients. If a relationship is not reciprocal where both the client and company are growing, it is worthless.

I design campaigns tailored to each of my clients, making every service completely unique.
How can your service help people find their Lifestyle Zen?
I can help business owners by shaping and informing the world about their brands. When people are familiar with a brand, attracting clients and customers becomes a lot easier. My services make business owners more efficient, because, now, the world actually sees them. Being more efficient allows them the opportunity to achieve a greater work-life balance.
