Weekday Music and Bites: M Lounge + South Coast Sushi
The other night, I was headed to M Lounge, to check out the free live jazz that goes down every Wednesday and Thursday. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, M Lounge was insanely packed so I made a quick detour (I will arrive MUCH earlier next time around).
That unexpected detour led me to South Coast Sushi Bar. I’ve heard plenty of buzz about South Coast, and honestly never gave it a chance because of it’s hectic SoLo location. I was pleasantly surprised at the quick service, and the very chill ambiance. My cocktail of choice was the Wasabi Mai Tai - a blend of wasabi sake infused vodka, rum orange juice and pineapple juice.
I sampled two hot appetizers: Asparagus Beef + Wasabi Shumai. The asparagus beef was a delish platter of asparagus wrapped with delicately sliced beef tenderloin in a rich, teriyaki sauce. The Wasabi Shumai was steamed pork dumplings, not as robust in flavor as the other dish, but still one to try. I had a great experience at South Coast Sushi and would definitely return for another go ‘round.
